I think I could write a book on this topic, but I hope these images alone will speak for themselves as to why it is so very important to have a bridal portrait session. I am over-the-top excited to share this blog post with you!! I have been holding back, and just waiting for our new website to be finished, so that I could blog these photos here! The other site just did not do this bride justice! LOL There are quite a few photos, but if you'll hang with it and see them all, you will not be disappointed! Every detail - from the venue (Thank you, Honey Lake Resort to the dress, to the veil, the shoes...ahhh...gorgeous!!
Without further adieu, here are our top 5 reasons that bridal sessions are a must in our professional opinion:
REASON #1: For the luxury of TRYING ON YOUR DRESS & MOVING AROUND IN IT before your big day...you know, work all the imperfections out. You get the opportunity of figuring out what needs "tweaking" before the most important day of your life!
REASON #2: You get to BE A WEDDING DRESS MODEL!! Of course you get to do this on your wedding day as well, but you have gone through so much effort picking out the perfect gown (Thanks to Bridals by Lori for this epic gown) , why not soak it up and enjoy being a model for a few hours before your actual wedding day! Oh, what I wouldn't give to have relaxed photos of me in my wedding dress - 20 years ago (I know that sounds like a lifetime ago, but I remember it like it was yesterday!)
REASON #3: You get to have a TRIAL RUN OF HAIR & MAKEUP and have an unhurried, relaxed photo session - looking your best! While Allen & I do everything we can to help you pull of the wedding day you've always dreamed of (including working with our brides and building a timeline with plenty of buffer time), the truth is that at some point in the getting-ready stage of the day, it can feel a bit rushed. The Bridal Session however is not at all rushed...you get our undivided attention - no stress, no rushing...just a glorious experience modeling your gown - and your accessories!
REASON #3a: Yes, I slipped an extra one in...can't help myself! THOSE SHOES!!! That's the reason! Taylor did not wear these shoes on her wedding day though. You'll have to wait for her wedding day blog to find out what shoes she wore, but these shoes ALONE are reason enough to do a bridal session! I love that she brought these awesome pink glittery heels to model her dress in. Every girl should have a pair of these...in every color!
REASON #4: LIGHTING!!! You can't always plan the perfect lighting on your wedding day, but we certainly do try! It just so happened to be pouring on this bride's wedding day, and we were beyond thankful that we had done this bridal session! We hoped we would get this gorgeous light on the big day, but we could certainly not predict that the sky would open up. She was such a good sport about it, but Allen and I agreed that it was just another good reason to make bridal sessions top priority!
Did I mention "relaxed, fun, unhurried" time to enjoy being in your gorgeous gown? The above photo says it all!
Breathtaking! Isn't she lovely? (To know her is to truly know that she is even more lovely on the inside, if you can even imagine.)
BEAUTY, CONFIDENCE, POISE! WE HAVE THE BEST BRIDES, I TELL YOU.
REASON #5: BONDING TIME between Mother and Daughter (or with your grandmother or BFF - whoever you want right by your side). What a special time for this young lady and her mom, to get to have a trial run and have Mom be in awe of the beautiful daughter she has raised! Oh, and maybe you and Mom both will get some of those tears out ahead of time. Just maybe. :-)
So when you are booking your photographer, please don't minimize the importance of a bridal session! We really cannot stress enough what a beautiful experience it can be for you. We get to give our brides all of our attention during this session without needing to focus on wedding details, family photos, bridal party photos...it's just all about the bride in this session! We get to know each other a bit more as well (allowing our brides to be even more comfortable in front of our lens on their wedding day - just one more amazing reason)!
