When these two cuties expressed interest in a Downtown Atlanta Engagement Photo Session, we were totally on board!!! Making it happen was another story though! We had it planned for months. but the closer we got and the more we checked the websites of the areas where we originally intended to shoot, the more we were hitting brick walls! We were literally texting back and forth for 2 days leading up to the shoot, trying to plan for the perfect photos and backdrops. But it was so worth it! Several sites where we originally considered photographing either had major events going on that day or required permits costing a small fortune! Neither of those things appealed to any of us, so we kept researching and rearranging until we had a workable plan. Little did we know how perfect it would all turn out!
Becky and Chad had several requests for the shoot. The ATLANTA SKYLINE, the infamous CENTENNIAL PARK FERRIS WHEEL, and maybe a park setting. We weren’t quite sure how we would pull off all that in a few hours in a busy city, but we sure did! Woohoo!!! They were so flexible and adorable for each shot and each location. That made our jobs so much easier! We met in one central location, then we had them jump in our vehicle and we chauffeured them around to each new site that we photographed at. We really had the best time laughing and chatting and getting to know them for the next few hours. Watching them interact with each other, snuggle up on a merry-go-round, dance in the middle of a parking garage and get cozy on a concrete wall in the middle of a park was truly enchanting! They have the sweetest relationship and love making each other laugh. It was such a delight to hang out with them and blitz downtown Atlanta for a few hours together!
One of the things that made it so easy for us (and always does when we photograph clients) is that they trusted our vision and our plan! They were just along for the ride and happy to pose however we told them too (And they totally rocked all the poses!). They were just excited to be together no matter where we ended up! We knew we wanted to use the Atlanta Beltline in some way, but since it covers such a large area, we really had to narrow it down and pick a spot. Once we stumbled across Tanyard Creek Park on the East Beltline, with the covered bride (EEK!!!), we knew that’s where we wanted to end up! It checked all the boxes…easy access, covered bridge, an adorable creek (although you can’t really get in it due to runoff - ick!), and even a playground for them to explore. Then we finished the Atlanta Engagement Session off by heading toward Centennial Park! Yay! It really wasn’t a very busy morning in that area and we were able to perfectly capture these two cuties with all their favorite landmarks in the background…including the CNN building (since Chad is a Journalism Professor).
We are always up for an adventure, but when we get to go with another couple and get to know them and get some epic photos of them all at the same time, that’s the bomb! We seriously can’t wait for their wedding coming up in December in Tallahassee! Counting down the days!
